Under Assam, Orunodoi Scheme Rs. 830 per month will be given to the beneficiaries to buy fundamental items like medicines, pulses, sugar, etc. Rs. 400 will be given to purchase medicines, Rs. 200 will be provided to buy 4 kilograms of pulses, Rs 80 to buy sugar, and Rs 150 to buy fruit origin. Under this scheme, the amount will be transferred directly into the bank account of the beneficiaries through the direct benefit transfer method.         The upgraded version of this poverty alleviation program will cost the state exchequer about Rs. 4,000 crore and include more than 10 lakh more participants. Orunodoi, which in Assamese means “the rising sun,” was introduced in 2020 with a focus on the population of economically underprivileged women. More than 17 lakh people benefited from it. On February 28, all application forms will have been collected and uploaded to the designated portal. With the consent of the neighborhood DC and the district’s guardian minister, aged men who are housed in old-age homes may also be included in Orunodoi 2.0. Each DC will receive a specific fund that will be used to disburse the required funds for these recipients.
